The goal of the Student visa is to allow international students to study and train in Australia full-time. A student can stay in Australia for the duration of their study with this visa. Before lodging a visa application, the student must enrol with an Australian education provider, or have a letter of offer in some situations.

You must comply with the following requirements as a visa applicant:

• Enrol as a full-time student with an Australian education provider and acquire written confirmation of this enrolment (predominantly on-line courses are not eligible)

• Genuinely intend to complete the relevant period of study in Australia have the required level of English language proficiency unless genuinely intend to complete the relevant period of study in Australia

• Have the required level of English language proficiency unless exempt have Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the period of your intended stay in Australia

• Have sufficient funds to cover your return airfares, tuition fees, and the cost of living in Australia, as well as any dependents included in your application

Application Process

You must first enrol in a full-time study at an Australian educational institution and get official confirmation of your enrolment (CoE) from that institution. After that, we'll compile and submit your visa application to the DOHA. The essential criterion is that you meet the above-mentioned standards, the type of which will vary depending on your passport nationality and the requirements of the education provider. In addition, you must meet the necessary health and character standards.

 

You may enter (or remain in) Australia to pursue your course of study once your visa has been granted by the DOHA. While studying, you must work no more than 40 hours per week while your course is in session, and you must only begin working once your course has begun for your initial visa. Higher education research Masters and Doctoral level programmes have different work provisions, which you should clarify with us if necessary. If applicable, you should also verify the work allowance for any dependents on your application.

 

PLEASE NOTE: We estimate that preparing and filing your application will take several weeks, with the length of time primarily determined by how quickly you (and your sponsor, if relevant) furnish us with the necessary supporting material and papers.
